Summary Professional Experience:

Aleena is an Occupational Therapist with experience across paediatric, school-based and adult rehabilitation settings, where she has supported children, young people and adults with a range of developmental, sensory, cognitive and functional needs.  Aleena understands that therapy is different for each person, and shapes her support around each person’s strengths, circumstances and goals.

Aleena has a particular interest in working with children and young people. Her areas of interest include sensory processing and emotional regulation, self-care and daily living skills, social participation, and supporting greater independence in everyday activities. Aleena takes time to understand the whole person, including their environment, relationships and the activities that matter to them. She also looks beyond behaviour to consider what a person may be experiencing or communicating.

Aleena’s practice is person-centred, strengths-based and culturally responsive. She works collaboratively with families, carers, education staff and other professionals to build genuine, trusting relationships and develop practical supports around each person’s priorities.

Aleena believes that trust and understanding are the foundations of good therapy. She combines sound clinical judgement with warmth, creativity and a sense of fun. Throughout her work, she keeps the person’s voice and goals at the centre. Aleena is driven by opportunities to help people grow in confidence, take part in meaningful activities, and have greater choice and independence in everyday life.
