This two-day interactive and engaging course focuses on staff and carers developing the skills and awareness to manage high-risk behaviours (including critical incidents) in a safe and informed way.
We support teams to develop greater understanding and empathy towards people displaying behaviours of concern and to prevent, predict, assess and manage incidents to minimise risk.
The sessions will put the person at the centre of your thinking. We’ll look beyond the behaviours to understand the communicative function behind them.

The courses finishes with an interactive session where you get to practice a range of safe physical intervention moves. The moves focus on:

The purpose of this session is to identify the most effective way for managing potential aggressive behaviour from person whilst maintaining the principle of reasonable force when working and interacting with them. Our focus is the safety of you and the people you support.
