Summary Professional Experience:

Gaby is a Behaviour Support Practitioner in the Forensic Practice team, committed to improving quality of life for people in vulnerable or disadvantaged situations. She keeps each person’s goals at the centre of her work and focuses on practical steps that create lasting change, such as supporting someone to move towards a long-held dream role.

With an academic background in Psychology and Criminal Behaviour, Gaby brings a specialised lens to complex presentations, particularly at the intersection of mental health and the justice system. Her practice is informed by broad disability sector experience across direct support and coordination in community and residential settings, including family homes and supported independent living (SIL). This foundation helps her work respectfully within a person’s environment and daily routines, and develop strategies that translate into real-world settings.

Gaby delivers person-centred, trauma-informed support focused on reducing behaviours of concern while building independence, safety and participation. She uses a NATI lens (neurodevelopmentally, attachment and trauma informed) to clarify what is driving behaviour and what people need to feel safe, connected and capable. Drawing on evidence-based frameworks including Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and the Person-Centred Active Support model, she prioritises predictable, strengths-based strategies and helps teams understand the function of behaviour in context. Known for her warm, detail-oriented style and strong rapport-building, Gaby works collaboratively with individuals, families and multidisciplinary teams to support sustainable engagement and meaningful outcomes.
