Qualifications / Professional Associations:
Exercise Physiologist, BSc(ExSpSc), BSc(ExRehab), DipOH&S
Summary Professional Experience:
Amanda started working in a risk management, assessment and program implementation area in the workers compensation space, working in numerous states and regional areas over 14 years. This has allowed for a specialisation in stakeholder engagement and management, particularly in the complex mental health and forensic space where teams can be sizeable and inclusive of many specialisations. Amanda’s area of special interest is the reintegration of offenders living with a disability through behaviour support interventions, including both skill building the person and working with care teams to reduce environmental triggers. Amanda has spent the last few years honing and developing tailored transition plans from psychiatric facilities and following periods of incarceration, ensuring that the wellbeing and dignity of the participant is maintained whilst engaging all stakeholders to mitigate any ongoing risk to the community.
Additionally, Amanda has focussed working in areas of protective behaviours, personal safety and sexuality for people living with a disability. This includes fostering behavioral changes for the participant in understanding of healthy interpersonal relationships, personal sexual hygiene perception and practices whilst reintegrating with the community, as well as supporting the team with linking in local community resources designed to support the participant.
