Clinical Consultant / Behaviour Support Practitioner

As a Behaviour Support Practitioner / Clinical Consultant at SAL Consulting NT you will be working in a transdisciplinary environment and delivering high-quality, person-centred services, working with a range of clients across a range of care needs from short-term involvement, to complex, long-term needs. This will involve, but is not limited to:

  • Conducting a range of assessments of a client’s presenting issues and support needs, and identifying appropriate supports, interventions and service models;
  • Designing and developing intervention plans and strategies;
  • Facilitating the delivery of clinical frameworks and activities;
  • Providing client support including clinic or home-based sessions, training and resource development.

The position is based in Alice Springs and will include some local and regional travel for specific work. The successful candidate will also get an opportunity to travel interstate and collaborate with SAL Consulting Group’s teams in other states, if desired. There is also an option to work from home for administration / report writing.

 

The qualifications, skills and experience the role requires include:

  1. Tertiary qualification in Psychology or a related discipline (e.g.: Education; Habilitation; Social Work; etc.) relevant to the field of behaviour support;
  2. Experience in providing clinical and/or behaviour assessment, intervention and support in the disability, out-of-home care and/or other relevant sectors;
  3. Experience in working with people with intellectual disabilities and/or experiences of trauma who have complex needs;
  4. Proficient writing, communication, analytical and assessment skills;
  5. A capacity to work autonomously as well as work as part of a team, maintain a team identity and build relationships with colleagues who may be working across various locations;
  6. A current Driver Licence, and ability and willingness to travel.

As a Clinical Support Worker / Cultural Consultant at SAL Consulting NT you will be working in a transdisciplinary environment and will be assisting our clinical consultants in their work with individuals and the care teams that support them. This will involve, but is not limited to:

  • observations and data collection;
  • implementing teaching/skill development programs;
  • coaching and mentoring of care teams;
  • identifying and developing resources;
  • preparation of reports and providing feedback and input around professional reports and support frameworks in relation to cultural appropriateness and fit.

The position is based in Alice Springs and will include some local and regional travel for specific work. The successful candidate will also get an opportunity to travel interstate and collaborate with SAL Consulting Group’s teams in other states, if desired. There is also an option to work from home for administration / report writing.

The qualifications, skills and experience the role requires include:

  1. A Certificate IV level qualification or an ability to attain a Certificate IV level qualification relevant to the field of behaviour support;
  2. Experience and interest in working with people with intellectual disabilities, children and young people in out of home care and/or individuals who have complex needs;
  3. Experience in onsite mentoring, coaching and training, and in implementing and facilitating the effectiveness of planned strategies;
  4. Demonstrated understanding of health, social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people;
  5. An ability to effectively engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across language groups and communities;
  6. An ability to communicate with a range of organisations, individuals, families and services in a professional manner;
  7. Proficient writing, communication, analytical and assessment skills;
  8. A capacity to work autonomously as well as work as part of a team, maintain a team identity and build relationships with colleagues who may be working across various locations;

Portfolio Manager, Senior Psychologist - Individual and Family Therapist (NSW)

About the Role

SAL Consulting’s therapy practice prides itself on providing services to individuals with an intellectual disability, children and young people in foster and residential out of home care, forensic disability, involuntary clients (including court ordered or consent by guardian) and individuals and families with a Mental Health Care Plan.

SAL Consulting believes in making a positive difference in people’s lives, and we need a skilled psychologist with extensive therapy experience who can help manage a growing portfolio and be part of our strong, supportive Leadership Team in NSW. You will provide our team of therapists with regular therapy supervision and mentoring/training, and hold a small case load of therapy clients, assessment and clinical support work.

Other duties include updating and maintaining therapy practice standards and guides, updating therapy policies and procedures, attending leadership meetings and being part of our allocations team.

Clinical Consultant / Speech Pathologist (Positions available in NSW, NT and VIC)

We are looking to fill in positions in NSW (based in Pennant Hills and Ultimo), in NT (based in Darwin and Alice Springs) and VIC (based in Ringwood). The job will include some local and/or regional travel for specific work. The successful candidates will also get an opportunity to travel interstate and collaborate with SAL Consulting Group’s teams in other states, if desired. There is also an option to work from home for administration / report writing.

The successful candidate will be given an opportunity to participate in improving other people’s lives by delivering high-quality, person-centred speech therapy services, working primarily with adults across a range of care needs from short-term involvement, to complex, long-term needs.  This will involve, but is not limited to assessing, diagnosing and managing clients who present with a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders.

  • Deliver holistic communication and swallowing assessment.
  • Provide client support including clinic or home-based sessions, training and resource development.
  • Opportunities to work with low and high tech AAC.

The position fits both experienced practitioners and recent graduates as we aim to tailor a caseload to our practitioners’ experience, skills and interests.

  • Delivering sensory assessments (SAL Consulting NT utilises the Adult/Adolescent Sensory Profile in the completion of these assessments),
  • Delivering functional assessments  (SAL Consulting NT utilises the Vineland III in the completion of these assessments),
  • Developing treatment and therapy plans,
  • Providing client support including clinic or home-based sessions, training and resource development.

The position is based in Winnellie, Darwin and will include some local and regional travel for specific work. The successful candidate will also get an opportunity to travel interstate and collaborate with SAL Consulting Group’s teams in other states, if desired. There is also an option to work from home for administration / report writing.

The qualifications, skills and experience the role requires include:

  1. A degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent and registration with AHPRA;
  2. Experience in working with people with intellectual disabilities and/or experiences of trauma who have complex needs;
  3. Experience in conducting comprehensive assessments of individuals functional needs; sensory assessment and profiling; mobility assessment and equipment provision; and holistic lifestyle assessment and associated goal setting;
  4. Experience in administration and interpretation of the Adult/Adolescent Sensory Profile and Vineland III Adaptive Behaviour Scales;
  5. Proficient writing, communication, analytical and assessment skills;
  6. A capacity to work autonomously as well as work as part of a team, maintain a team identity and build relationships with colleagues who may be working across various locations;
  7. A current Driver Licence, and ability and willingness to travel.
