Internship - Clinical Consultant / Provisional Psychologist

We are looking for someone to join our NSW team based in Sydney who:

Essential Criteria:

  1. Has current provisional registration with AHPRA (or eligibility for);
  2. Has direct experience working with people with intellectual disabilities, out-of-home care or Specialist Homelessness Services, ideally including direct care experience.

General Criteria:

  1. Has a degree majoring in Psychology (minimum 4 years);
  2. Has previously provided clinical and/or behaviour assessment, intervention and support in either the intellectual disability, out-of-home-care and/or homelessness sectors;
  3. Can communicate with a range of organisations, individuals, families and services in a professional manner;
  4. Has high level written skills, the capacity to impart knowledge and an ability to motivate others;
  5. Has demonstrated capacity to quickly engage different groups of people, in a variety of contexts, and with differing levels of engagement;
  6. Has demonstrated analytical and assessment skills;
  7. Can manage complex work in their area of experience;
  8. Demonstrates initiative, has the capacity to work autonomously as well as work as part of a team, maintain a team identity and build relationships with colleagues who may be working across various locations;
  9. Holds a current Driver Licence; and
  10. Periodically, would be willing to travel interstate and/or regional parts of Australia.

What does a SAL Consulting Group Internship look like?

In the process of addressing the internship criteria outlined by AHPRA, SAL Consulting Group also endeavours to provide you with an experience of reflective practice and personal development, shaping your confidence and professionalism in working as a psychologist.  To this end, you will have the opportunity to participate in:

  • development and implementation of behaviour support plans;
  • staff training;
  • experience in a range of assessments including behavioural, psychosocial, risk, and psychometric;
  • clinical report writing;
  • consultation and clinical support for individuals, teams and organisations;
  • therapeutic support;

Clinical Consultant / Psychologist

  1. Has a degree majoring in Psychology and is registered with APHRA;
  2. Has previously provided clinical and/or behaviour assessment, intervention and support in either the intellectual disability, out-of-home-care and/or homelessness sectors;
  3. Has experience or interest in the delivery of individual and group therapy;
  4. Can communicate with a range of organisations, individuals, families and services in a professional manner;
  5. Has high level written skills, the capacity to impart knowledge and an ability to motivate others;
  6. Has demonstrated capacity to quickly engage different groups of people, in a variety of contexts, and with differing levels of engagement;
  7. Has demonstrated analytical and assessment skills;
  8. Can manage complex work in your area of experience;
  9. Is Initiative, has the capacity to work autonomously as well as work as part of a team, maintain a team identity and build relationships with colleagues who may be working across various locations;
  10. Holds a current Driver Licence; and
  11. Periodically, would be willing to travel interstate and/or regional parts of Australia.

Clinical Consultant / Speech Pathologist

We are looking for Speech Pathologists to join our NT team based in Darwin and our NSW team based in Sydney who:

    1. Have a degree in Speech Pathology and eligibility for certified practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia;
    2. Have experience and interest in working with people with intellectual disabilities and/or experiences of trauma who have complex needs;
    3. Have ability to conduct comprehensive Communication assessments, treatment planning and intervention for children, adolescents and adults with a wide range of presentations; and Mealtime Management;
    4. Can communicate with a range of organisations, individuals, families and services in a professional manner;
    5. Have high level written skills, the capacity to impart knowledge and an ability to motivate others;
    6. Have demonstrated capacity to quickly engage different groups of people, in a variety of contexts, and with differing levels of engagement;
    7. Have demonstrated analytical and assessment skills;
    8. Can manage complex work in your area of experience;
