Occupational Therapist

SAL Consulting is looking for a full-time Occupational Therapist to join our team. The position will provide the successful applicant with a diverse caseload and the opportunity to work with an innovative and dynamic trans-disciplinary team. We are looking for a creative and reflective thinker who enjoys a challenge. A large part of our current caseload consists of assessment and intervention planning with people with intellectual disabilities who present with complex communication, sensory and behavioural support needs, and working with children and young people who have experienced complex trauma.

SAL Consulting is an organisation that is focused on providing customised support to people and agencies within the health and community services sector, including organisations focusing on supporting children and young people; people with a disability; vulnerable families, and people with mental health support needs and their families. We work with complex and vulnerable people, organisations and systems.

Essential Criteria:

1.    A Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or equivalent.

2.    Current AHPRA registration;

3.    Experience and interest working with people with intellectual disabilities and/or experiences of trauma who have complex needs;

4.    Ability to conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals functional needs; equipment needs and holistic lifestyle goals;

5.    Experience in training and mentoring/supporting parents and families, direct care staff and educators;

6.    Excellent written and verbal communication skills and well developed organisational and time management skills;

7.    Capacity to work autonomously as well as the ability to work in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team;

8.    A strong client focus and commitment to learning, continuous quality improvement, and ongoing professional development;

9.    A current Driver’s license and a willingness and ability to travel

Clinical Consultant - Speech Pathologist

Speech Pathologist (Clinical Consultant)

Up to 12 months contract, possible permanent.

Creating strong, collaborative relationships with individuals and organisations through communication and working together plays an integral part in SAL Consulting practice and ethos. We are an accredited provider of Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics through the Child Trauma Academy in the USA, and a member of the Neuroleadership Institute.

SAL Consulting has a focus on working with complex and vulnerable individuals, systems and organizations, working to supporting children and youth; clients with a disability; and persons with mental health support needs and their families.

SAL Consulting provides a range of service types including Clinical Support, Clinical Supervision, Therapy, Health and Allied Health Services, Training and Organisational Practice and Professional Development. Our Consultant Team is a diverse, trans-disciplinary group, with individuals having qualifications, specific training, and practical experience in the Community Services, Health, Disability and Youth sectors.

We are looking for someone who has:

General Criteria:

1.    A Bachelor or Post Graduate degree in Speech Pathology and eligibility for certified practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia;

2.    Experience in training and mentoring/supporting parents and families, direct care staff and educators;

3.    Excellent written and verbal communication skills and well developed organisational and time management skills;

4.    Capacity to work autonomously as well as the ability to work in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team;

5.    A strong client focus and commitment to learning, continuous quality improvement, and ongoing professional development;

6.    Current drivers license;

7.    Willingness to travel to rural areas;

8.    Eligibility for a Temporary Work (Skilled) Visa (Subclass 457). Note: 457 Sponsorship will be considered for the right applicant.
