Therapy: EMDR

Process the past with EMDR.

EMDR helps people process distressing memories and regain a sense of calm and control. Our clinicians offer this evidence-based therapy in a safe, supportive setting.

What is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a proven, trauma-informed therapy that helps individuals process distressing memories.

Who is this therapy for?

EMDR may be particularly beneficial for individuals with a history of complex trauma, developmental trauma, or PTSD, including those for whom traditional talk therapies haven’t been effective.

How does it work?

EMDR is based on the understanding that traumatic or distressing experiences can get “stuck” in the brain and continue to impact how people feel and function. Through a structured process involving bilateral stimulation (often using eye movements, tapping or sound), EMDR helps the brain reprocess these memories and reduce their emotional charge.

Our EMDR therapy is:

  • Client-centred and collaborative – We work at the person’s pace and ensure the individual feels safe and supported throughout the process.

  • Integrated – EMDR may be offered as a standalone treatment or integrated into broader therapeutic work.

  • Informed by neurodevelopmental and trauma frameworks – Our team brings deep expertise in developmental trauma, attachment, and neurobiology to support effective outcomes.

We offer EMDR therapy as part of our broader therapeutic service suite.
