Creating systems that support well-being.
Transforming environments into places of safety, connection, and growth.
What is an Ecological Assessment?
The environments we create—whether in workplaces, care settings, or community services—have a powerful impact on how people feel, interact, and heal. SAL Consulting’s ecological assessments help organisations design spaces and systems that are not only safe, but deeply responsive to human needs.
Moving beyond basic risk management, our ecological approach asks: how do your spaces make people feel? Are they welcoming? Are they supportive? Do they reflect your values in action?
How does it work?
Using neuroscience, trauma-informed, and attachment-aware frameworks, we observe and assess how environments impact the people within them—clients, staff, and community members alike.
Our process includes:
On-site observations tailored to your context
A review of how space is used, presented, and experienced
Analysis of whether environments are supporting or hindering engagement and safety
Practical suggestions for change—big or small—that align with your values and purpose
Our assessments explore how physical and relational environments can be shaped to create the conditions for:
Safety and regulation
Healing and recovery
Connection, learning, and growth
Whether you’re working with people who have experienced trauma, neurodivergent clients, or complex care needs, our goal is to help you create responsive, person-centred environments that truly support those you serve.
